My lifelong interest in art began when I spent one summer as a child learning the basics of charcoal drawings from Norman Merritt, a Boothbay harbor artist. I grew up in North Edgecomb, Maine and over the years I took art lessons from a variety of local artists in the area, dabbling briefly with pen and ink and stenciling. I started doing watercolors in 1994 and fell in love with the medium. I attended the Maine Coast Art Workshop in 1994 and 1995, studying under William Vrscak and Better Lou Schlemm, both of whom are members of the American Watercolor Society. My work now is exclusively in acrylics. I graduated from a private school in Vassalboro, Maine and Lasell JR. College in Auburndale, Massachusetts with a major in art. I am a member of the Royal River Art League and have sold many paintings over the years privately and at summer shows. My work consists mostly of Coastal Maine, its homes and its landscapes. After many years boating along the Maine Coast and living in the great state of Maine, I hope the love for its scenic beauty shows through in my work.
