Jill Shaw

Jill was born in the Midwest but has lived in Maine since 1973. She draws inspiration from the natural world in Maine and the states beyond. Watercolor is her primary medium where she creates art from the play of color and design. Her paintings tend toward a more playful and whimsical rendering with a bold use of color. Her style is illustrative as well as abstract. She was the 2004 winner of the Cape Elizabeth Arts Commission Grant. She has had several shows at the Thomas Memorial Library Stier Gallery. Her work has also been displayed at the Westbrook Frame and Art Gallery, the Chebeague Island Art Show as well as the National Arts Program at Portland City Hall.
