Rick Berk

Freeport, ME

Born and raised in Northern NJ, Rick discovered the Maine landscape on a vacation in the late 1990s, and realized his dream of making Maine his permanent home in 2016. Educated at Kean University in NJ with a B.A. in Fine Art, Rick became a sports photographer after graduation, photographing professional sports for the next ten years. In 2007, Rick became a trainer and technical specialist at Canon USA, which enabled him to travel and capture the places he visited with his camera. These days, Rick can be found traveling as often as possible and photographing wherever he goes. Rick’s work is recognizable through his use of vibrant color and ability to capture detail throughout the scene. Rick’s images are a reflection of the emotions he felt when visiting each place he photographs. In addition, Rick leads workshops and is a writer for the Digital Photography School website. Rick’s work is available through various galleries in Maine and New York and his work is also available for commercial use via Getty Images’ iStockPhoto. At Saltwater Artists’, visitors will see some of Rick’s more recent images of the Maine landscape. To see his work from around the country, visit www.rickberk.com.
