After a career as a photo-illustrator I moved to watercolors, to interpreting what I see, painting on location and from my photos. I live in Maine. I'm a signature member of the Vermont Watercolor Society, a member of the Icelandic Watercolor Society, a member in Art Guild of the Kennebunks, and Plein Air Painters of Maine. I was fortunate to experience a successful career in children's books illustrated with my photography, more than 45 garnering prestigious honors and awards. I minored in art at the University of Maine, and took watercolor workshops with Susan Abbott, David Dewey, and Dewitt Hardy. I painted a commission for the USA Olympic Curling Team, 2018 Olympics. Honors and Awards: Honorable Mention, Castine (Maine) Plein Air Festival, 2019. Show Poster, Kennebunk River Club, 2019. Best in Show, Port Clyde (Maine) Art Gallery Third Annual Invitational 10 x 10 Show, 2018. Exhibitions 2013-2022 in Maine and Vermont: Solo (2), Group (9), and Juried Group (17). 2022 in Iceland, "Reykjavik and Beyond". The voice of my painter grandson is always in mind, "It's a painting; you can do anything."
