Carrie Meas

My name is Carrie Meas, I reside and paint at my home here in Yarmouth, Maine. I have been an artist since I was born, I spent three years at the University of Alaska Anchorage studying Illustration, then returned to Maine to receive my B.F.A at the University of Southern Maine with a focus on drawing and ceramics. My paintings are a way of showing people my favorite places and favorite moments while hiking. I decided to paint those moments that I find so abstract and magically. I love the play between the vibrance of the sunset or sunrise and the shadows and reflections of the color and the negative interacting. In the past 20 years I have worked for many artists, art studios and art production companies here in Maine. I have been featured in two other juried art shows going back 18 years ago, so this is pretty much my debut.
