Charlie Hayes

Charlie Hayes grew up in Pownal, Maine and took his first ceramics class his senior year at Freeport High School. He then went to study ceramic art at Warren Wilson College in Asheville, North Carolina. After earning his degree, Hayes completed a four-year traditional apprenticeship program in Seagrove, North Carolina; the "pottery capitol of the country". Hayes is currently back in Maine starting a ceramics studio in an old diary barn in North Yarmouth, a few miles from where he grew up.
