I grew up in Maine and I can't escape the influence of our southern coastal region on my work. I tried to runaway a couple times, but those were total failures and merely half hearted attempts. Consequently, I am proud to say I am a regional realist landscape artist. I paint mostly in oil and sometimes in acrylic or watercolor. Artists I admire include Don Demers, Richard Hasenfus, Pat de Groot, Richard Schmid, Manet, Sargent, and Georgia O'Keefe. Maine is a joyous and ever changing landscape artist's muse. There is so much beauty here. I paint to honor what's around us before it changes forever.
