In my painting I emphasize the importance of composition, color and light. Whether it’s landscapes, seascapes or urban settings, the effects of sunlight on the scenes is what interests me as an artist. My subject matter has been diverse, to include vineyards of Southern France, and sunrises captured from my Georgetown home overlooking the ocean. Monhegan Island has been a particular source of inspiration, and I paint there every summer.
