Patricia Limon Sands
Scarborough, Maine

Several years ago I made up my mind to walk, almost daily. I began to take photographs along the way and soon, taking photographs became the reason and motivation for the walks. Initially, my focus was on capturing whatever was in bloom and I call these "Flowerscapes." In other seasons I found a whole new vista at the beach in the sand. I call these images "Sandscapes." I have taken photographs since college, when I was given the gift of a 35 mm camera, lens and a dark room. It has since become a passion. My work was displayed recently at Smaha Gallery in Scarborough and can now be viewed at Clayton's Cafe in Yarmouth and The Met Coffeehouse and Fine Art Gallery in Freeport. This summer I was asked to be a judge for a juried photography show during the Marblehead Festival of the Arts which has existed since 1962. My photographs are printed on Custom Lamda Photo Luster paper by Hunt's Photo in South Portland. I am also a psychotherapist and have a private practice specializing in grief, loss and life transitions. I raised my two beautiful daughters (inside and out) in Yarmouth and currently live in Scarborough.
