Winter Red Fox
Media: Fabric collage
Dimensions: 8 x 6
Price: 175
This fox is catching the last bit of winter sun, up to his shoulders in snow, imagining spring is on its way. 10 in x 8 in framed
Great Horned Owl
Media: Fabric collage
Dimensions: 7 x 7
Price: 135
Using fragments of gray, brown and cream fabrics to give the appearance of feathers, this owl has the typical curious, yet suspicious expression. 9 in x 9 in framed
White Pine Cone
Media: Fabric collage
Dimensions: 7 in x 9 in unframed; 8 in x 10 in framed
Price: 150.00
Maine's state tree prolifically produces cones in the spring. These mature to provide the seeds for the next generation of forest. Pine trees in general are a favorite subject of mine.
Black and White Snail
Media: Fabric collage
Dimensions: 6 in x 8 in unframed; 8 in x 10 in framed
Price: 175.00
This slow, deliberate creature occupies many Maine gardens. Making it’s way among the plants, it is a picky eater, stopping at only the tastiest leaves. Snails drew my attention because they exhibit one of my favorite phenomena-the Fibonacci or “Golden” spiral-a math sequence found throughout nature
Atlantic Salmon
Media: Fabric collage
Dimensions: 10 x 8
Price: 225
Maine’s Atlantic salmon used to be ubiquitous with New England’s coast. In all of their silvery glory, they travel from open ocean to fresh streams to spawn in the waters where they began. As the last bastion of native populations, Maine has a special connection with this species. 12 x 10 framed
Natural Vitality
Media: Fabric collage
Dimensions: 22 in x 24 in; gallery wrapped
Price: 600.00
This spiral began with the golds, oranges and browns - not my typical color palette. Intentionally cut leaves, flowers, dragonflies, bears, and birds are tucked among more abstract shapes that follow patterns of the fabrics. The title reflects both the order and chaos of the natural world.
